I'll add more to this, but I graduated from Saint Olaf College with honors in history as well as being a member of Phi Alpha Theta and honors in Political Science and a member of the Political Science Association. I also received induction into Blue Key National Honor Fraternity, and several other important honors.
I have had my masters since 1990, and have been a master educator, consultant, development specialist, event planner, speaker and task force member as well as maintaining a keen interest in community and international affairs. Subsequent to this, I have taken coursework to ultimately finish my doctorate.
Recently, I hosted at my home a reception for the producer of "Loach is Fish Too" who the Minnesota International Film Festival honored and debuted his documentary on Chinese immigrant laborers. The guests at the reception proved interesting and talented. I have long held a strong interest in international affairs and share the sentiments of my former mentor and Minnesota's youngest Governor, Harold Stassen, who understood that we who toil in the soil here do the same as all who toil on all continents with similar dreams, aspirations and ideals. The Sufi and Rotary Creed of speaking, thinking and doing what is positive and affirming exemplifies this as well.
My work on the Mandarin Task Force and the State Board of Teaching Technology Task Force has proven interesting and impactful to improve the fabric of our society.
Working with young people daily has been a highlight of my life.
